These illustrations were created for the article Wound closure with a mesh and liquid tissue adhesive (Dermabond Prineo) system in pediatric spine surgery: a prospective single-center cohort study incorporating parent-reported outcome measures in the Journal of Neurosurgery Pediatrics. The goal was to present the various steps and advantages of the Dermabond™ Prineo™ skin closure system in pediatric spine surgery. Unlike a conventional suture, this system consists of a mesh and liquid adhesive applied directly to the skin. This flexible, waterproof solution prevents feces from contaminating the wound, or the child from ripping off the dressing.
